Fees
Intake: $20 flat fee
Individual Therapy: $30-$150 sliding fee scale dependent on income
Please note that we do not take insurance. For individual therapy, we are happy to provide you with a receipt to submit to your insurer. Please check with them first to make sure you will be covered
Group Therapy: $160 (cost for a full 8-weeks of a typical group)
Due to the high demand for groups, we require a deposit to hold your space. You only have a spot once a group leader contacts you and confirms your place. At that time, you will receive instructions on how to submit your deposit.
Please be sure to submit your deposit at least 7 days prior to the group start date or you will lose your spot and it will be reassigned to someone on the waitlist.
Refund policy:
2 weeks or more before start date = 100% refund
1-2 weeks before start date = 50%
Due to limited space, we are not able to offer a refund once group has started.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept insurance?
Do you see clients under the California Victim of Crime Compensation Program (CalVCP)?
- At this time we are not affiliated with any forms of insurance. Many insurance companies often dictate the type, length, and frequency of therapy in a way that would restrict access to the full treatment process for PTSD that the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinic is attempting to provide. We have adjusted our fees to compensate for the fact that we do not accept insurance and to ensure sure that everyone can receive the full range of treatment, regardless of financial resources or ability to pay.
- Depending on your insurance, you may be able to be reimbursed for some of the fees you pay to our clinic. Contact your insurance provider and discuss this possibility with them and they may be agreeable to this if they are provided with an invoice from our clinic. This is something we would be more than willing to provide if requested.
Do you see clients under the California Victim of Crime Compensation Program (CalVCP)?
- We cannot see clients under California Victim of Crime Compensation. All therapy covered under the CalVCP must be provided by licensed psychologists. The clinicians at the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinic are all pre-doctoral student clinicians who are practicing under, and supervised by, experienced, licensed clinicians.
