Our Story

In 2016, Drs. Matthew McKay and Robyn Walser set out on a mission to increase access to affordable, evidence-based trauma therapy in the Bay Area which led to the opening of Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinical Services (BATRCS).

10 years later, our mission is still the same.

​Here we provide what so few clinics in the Bay Area offer: low-fee trauma therapy. Many of our clients pay as little as $30 per session.

We're also a student-training clinic. Our student-therapists are supervised and trained by licensed psychologists who are experts in the field of trauma therapy, so, in addition to increasing access to low-fee therapy, we're also training the next generation of trauma therapists in evidence-based treatments for trauma like EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Exposure Therapy.

Because of that, we heavily rely on generous donors for financial support so that we can continue to provide access to these much needed services.
